“The hills are alive with the sounds of bird song” … or something like that.
Now I know this is a tough sell for some, but I promise it’s one of the most rewarding nature experiences you can do this time of year!
To Celebrate National Dawn Chorus Day, our resident expert David is on hand to share his insights and knowledge of the park, in what’s set to be a wonderful morning jaunt! There’s nothing quite like a Cuerden Dawn Chorus, and with the right weather, it’ll be a memorable morning with symphonies throughout!
Now hold your breath, but it’s a 5 am start (I promise you it’ll be worth it) and will last for around 3 hours on the 5th of May. The café will be open slightly earlier at around 8 am, so you’ll have a chance to warm up with a brew & a butty afterwards.

Under 18’s are free – please purchase a ticket so we’re aware of numbers.
You’ll also have a unique opportunity to go into the park’s nature reserves and see the inner workings of Cuerden at a time, most people wouldn’t get the chance to see.
Unfortunately, Dogs won’t be allowed on any of our guided walks as we don’t want to scare away any wildlife!
The walk will be over the space of a couple of hours, so please dress appropriately to the weather conditions of the day (a raincoat is a must!). We would also recommend Wellies or a pair of walking boots as the terrain will vary; you and your party will be walking off footpaths, so if you’re a little unsteady on your feet – this one might not be for you. The walk will also be 2-3km, so please be wary if you would struggle over that distance.
