Description
Come and Join us for the big Garden Birdwatch in the park on the 18th of January!
Our resident bird expert David Beattie, will be on hand to delve into all things Ornithology. These sessions are for all ages and provide a great chance to learn something new. We can’t guarantee the weather; so we would recommend a raincoat and a pair of sturdy boots/wellies. You may be going into restricted areas of the park so dogs won’t be allowed on this walk and talk, unfortunately.
Under 16’s are free – however please purchase a ticket so we are aware of the numbers for the talk as they can get quite busy.
We will be meeting outside Cuerden View café at 9 am; however, please arrive promptly. You should expect to be on the walk for up to 2 hours so please dress appropriately and bring a bottle of water if you deem it appropriate. There will be a trained first aider with you at all times and an assessment of the route will be completed to ensure the weather conditions are deemed suitable on the day. A good level of fitness is required and the route will be no more than 5km long, there will be sections of the route off the path – not accessible by wheelchair or tramper. We won’t be able to provide walking aids, so if that’s required please bring your own. Note, that there may be sections of the path that are muddier than others.
Terms & Conditions
Tickets cannot be refunded within 7 days of any CVPT event and they cannot be exchanged for another event later in the year. All children (Under 16’s) must be accompanied by an adult throughout the whole of the walk. It is the parent’s or guardians’ responsibility to manage their child’s behaviour throughout the event and all participants must remain with the event coordinator throughout the walk. There will be potential slip and trip hazards along the route, given the nature of the walk. Dogs or any form of pets are not allowed on this tour of the park as we will be in close proximity of wildlife and we aim to minimise any disturbance caused. If a participant arrives for the tour with their pet, they will not be able to participate and will not be liable for a refund either. The group will wait for up to 15 minutes after the start time to accommodate any late arrivals. However, we ask that all participants arrive promptly (at least 5 minutes before the start time). After 15 minutes, the group will set off with or without any late arrivals in the interest of the rest of the group. Any late arrivals will not be liable for a refund either. Car parking is not included within the price of the ticket and will have to be bought separately. The CVPT team will do its utmost to ensure no injuries occur during the event. However, ultimately CVPT will take no responsibility for any injuries occurred during the event as any participant takes part at their own risk.
