Job Vacancy – Operations Manager
A new opportunity has arisen for a senior post at the Park. We’re looking for an energetic and commercially astute Operations Manager to help shape the future of the Park. You’ll be responsible for the day to day operational management of food and beverage and visitor facilities, while developing hospitality and commercial events, building brand values and improving visitor experience.
You will have significant commercial experience in hospitality and F&B in a visitor-facing environment, with a track record of sound financial management, leadership and team development. We hope you’ll share our passion for the countryside and environment and enjoy the wonderful setting in which we work.
You’ll lead our team of hard working catering staff at our very busy and popular Cuerden View Café. With turnover exceeding expectations in its first year, your challenge is to maintain standard and improve profitability, while expanding to meet demand.
Cuerden Valley Park has been owned and maintained by the Trust since 1992 and covers 650 acres of countryside rich in wildlife providing a green oasis in central Lancashire. The Café and Visitor Centre opened in 2018 in our superb straw bale eco-building with stunning panoramic views. The building was constructed by volunteers to some of the toughest environmental performance standards in the world. We are putting climate-change and environmental education at the heart of our strategy, and you’ll need to be creative to ensure our operations respond to this especially in the sourcing of ingredients, packaging, waste, recycling and energy use.
This is a vital role as we embark on a plan to respond to demand for outdoor space and generate the funds we need to maintain this much loved Park forever.
Salary £28,000 + 5% pension contribution.
